摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)是開發應用較早的(de)(de)隔(ge)(ge)振技術之(zhi)(zhi)一(yi)(yi)，所用的(de)(de)摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)材料(liao)多為(wei)沙石、石墨等廉價材料(liao)，標(biao)記經濟且(qie)簡單易行(xing)。摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)系(xi)(xi)(xi)統(tong)(tong)通常有(you)隔(ge)(ge)離地(di)(di)(di)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)作(zuo)用的(de)(de)摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)滑(hua)動(dong)機構(gou)和(he)限位(wei)(wei)復位(wei)(wei)的(de)(de)阻(zu)尼向心機構(gou)組成，多為(wei)平(ping)面滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)系(xi)(xi)(xi)統(tong)(tong)。該系(xi)(xi)(xi)統(tong)(tong)不能(neng)(neng)自動(dong)復位(wei)(wei)，一(yi)(yi)般需要另外加(jia)設復位(wei)(wei)裝(zhuang)置，且(qie)滑(hua)動(dong)性能(neng)(neng)離散(san)性大(da)(da)、不易控制，滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)量(liang)過大(da)(da)可能(neng)(neng)導致穿越(yue)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)層的(de)(de)非結構(gou)構(gou)件破(po)壞，甚至可能(neng)(neng)發生滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)失(shi)穩，這(zhe)極(ji)大(da)(da)地(di)(di)(di)阻(zu)礙了滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)的(de)(de)發展。為(wei)了解決平(ping)面滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)系(xi)(xi)(xi)統(tong)(tong)不能(neng)(neng)自動(dong)復位(wei)(wei)問題，Zayas等于1985年在美國(guo)加(jia)州大(da)(da)學伯(bo)克利分校研發了摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)擺隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)裝(zhuang)置，稱(cheng)之(zhi)(zhi)為(wei)摩(mo)(mo)擦(ca)擺系(xi)(xi)(xi)統(tong)(tong)/支座(Friction Pendilum System/Bearing,簡稱(cheng)FPS/FPB)。該裝(zhuang)置不僅具(ju)有(you)平(ping)面滑(hua)移(yi)(yi)(yi)隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)裝(zhuang)置的(de)(de)對地(di)(di)(di)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)激(ji)勵頻(pin)率范圍(wei)的(de)(de)低敏感性和(he)高穩定性，特有(you)的(de)(de)圓弧滑(hua)動(dong)面還使其具(ju)有(you)復位(wei)(wei)功能(neng)(neng)，無需附(fu)設阻(zu)尼向心機構(gou)，故而(er)在實際(ji)應用中更為(wei)簡便，且(qie)增(zeng)加(jia)了隔(ge)(ge)震(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)(zhen)裝(zhuang)置的(de)(de)可靠(kao)度。
摩(mo)擦(ca)擺(bai)(bai)隔震(zhen)(zhen)支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)是將傳統的(de)平面滑(hua)(hua)移隔震(zhen)(zhen)裝(zhuang)置的(de)摩(mo)擦(ca)滑(hua)(hua)移面由平面改為球面，從(cong)而(er)可依靠自身重(zhong)力自動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)回(hui)復。該(gai)支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)主要(yao)由上、下支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)板(ban)和一個(ge)鉸接(jie)滑(hua)(hua)塊(kuai)組成。摩(mo)擦(ca)擺(bai)(bai)隔震(zhen)(zhen)支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)嵌(qian)在(zai)(zai)(zai)滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)容腔中的(de)鉸接(jie)滑(hua)(hua)塊(kuai)與滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)面具(ju)有(you)相同的(de)曲率半(ban)徑(jing)，可與滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)面完全(quan)貼合，并使(shi)上支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)在(zai)(zai)(zai)支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)時始終保(bao)持水平。滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)面上涂有(you)低摩(mo)擦(ca)材(cai)料，如聚四氟乙烯（特(te)氟龍(long)）等，可在(zai)(zai)(zai)滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)過程中耗(hao)散能量(liang)。當(dang)滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)界面受到的(de)地(di)震(zhen)(zhen)作用超過靜摩(mo)擦(ca)力時，地(di)面水平運動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)會促使(shi)滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)在(zai)(zai)(zai)其圓弧面內滑(hua)(hua)動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)，從(cong)而(er)迫使(shi)上部結構輕(qing)微抬高(gao)，發(fa)生(sheng)單擺(bai)(bai)運動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)。然(ran)后，支(zhi)(zhi)座(zuo)(zuo)會在(zai)(zai)(zai)自身受到的(de)豎(shu)向荷(he)載(zai)作用下自動(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)(dong)回(hui)復。
摩擦擺隔震支(zhi)座的(de)(de)水平力(li)(li)(li)(li)為滑動(dong)面(mian)摩擦力(li)(li)(li)(li)和上部結構沿(yan)滑道上升產(chan)生的(de)(de)恢復(fu)力(li)(li)(li)(li)的(de)(de)合力(li)(li)(li)(li)，而提(ti)供的(de)(de)恢復(fu)力(li)(li)(li)(li)使支(zhi)座能依靠其承受(shou)的(de)(de)重力(li)(li)(li)(li)自(zi)動(dong)往中(zhong)心位(wei)置回復(fu)，使地震響(xiang)應得(de)到控(kong)制，并(bing)且該支(zhi)座的(de)(de)剛度中(zhong)心有自(zi)動(dong)與隔震結構的(de)(de)質心重合的(de)(de)趨勢(shi)，因而能在更大 程度上消(xiao)除結構的(de)(de)扭轉運動(dong)。摩擦擺隔震支(zhi)座的(de)(de)周(zhou)期、豎向承載力(li)(li)(li)(li)、阻尼比(bi)、側(ce)重位(wei)移和抗拉力(li)(li)(li)(li)等指標(biao)可以進行(xing)單獨(du)控(kong)制，該特(te)性十分便(bian)于設(she)計人員對隔震系統進行(xing)優化設(she)計。
